Why your AC is running but not cooling
HVAC Tips

If your AC runs but the house stays warm, start with the safe basics before you call.
Check these first
- Thermostat set to Cool, with the set point below room temperature
- A clean filter
- An outdoor unit that is running, clear of debris, with the fan spinning
- Supply vents open and unblocked
Signs you need a technician
- Ice on the indoor coil or the refrigerant lines
- An outdoor unit that hums but the fan does not spin
- Water pooling around the furnace
- Warm air from the vents after 15 minutes of running
Frozen coils, low refrigerant, failed capacitors and compressor problems need professional tools and safe refrigerant handling. Book a diagnostic visit with Bluefire Air and we will find the cause and give you a fixed price.
